The cricketing journey of Asha Rawat began at Delhi where she started playing domestic cricket. She was born and brought up in one of the most culturally rich states of India, Uttar Pradesh which also happens to be the land of many celebrated crickets. Notably, her first significant stride towards achieving her dream came true when she was chosen to play for Central Zone team based out of Madhya Pradesh. Her impressive performance caught everyone’s attention and soon opened opportunities for her in International cricket.

International Career

Asha made her international debut back in December 2005 during an ODI match against Pakistan in Karachi. Since then, there was no looking back and she became a regular member for Indian Women’s Team across all formats. Throughout her career, Asha played more than fifty international matches including One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test Matches representing India.

In terms of performance, Rawat’s highest score in an ODI match stands at 69 runs against Sri Lanka at Canberra on 09th February 2008. Further, she scored two half-centuries back-to-back against Pakistan and New Zealand in Women’s World Cup, 2009.

Extraordinarily talented Asha had always been accurate with the cricket ball both while batting or bowling. However, she decided to end her International cricket career in July 2011 at a relatively young age just six years after making debut for Team India.
