Early Life And Achievements
Born in Lahore (currently situated in Pakistan) back in 1905, Ghulam Guard was known for his powerful swing and defensive techniques as a right-hand bat and left-arm medium pace bowler. He initiated his career journey in the picturesque landscape of Kutch’s vibrant cricketing scene during British rule before moving onto Mumbai.
Spectacular Domestic Career
Ghulam Guard showcased persistent performances throughout his domestic playing career. His spectacular batting technique, paired with his remarkable bowling capabilities, made him an indispensable component of various teams he played for. The zenith point of Ghulam’s career came when he represented the Parsees team taking part in Bombay Quadrangular – which transitioned into the Pentangular tournament once Hindus became involved in 1916-17.
