  • Test Debuts: After impressive first-class performances, Gul made his test debut for India on January 10th, 1946 against England which resulted into another landmark in his career.
  • Miraculous Innings: Though predominantly seen as lower-middle order batsman, once at Karachi (Pakistan) in September-October1955 he compiled second wicket partnership that still stands as a world record first class stand for that wicket.
  • Pakistan Appearances: Following Partition, Gul migrated to Pakistan in 1955, where he represented his new country honourably before retiring from international cricket. He received the distinct honor of playing for both India and Pakistan, one of the very few to have such feather in their cap.
