Kaur was born on March 8th, 1989 in Moga, Punjab India. Her passion for Cricket started at an early age, driven by her father Harmandar Singh Bhullar — a basketball player and volleyball coach himself. He identified his daughter’s potential and enrolled her in a local cricket academy.

In July 2009, after displaying consistent performances in domestic matches, Kaur made her youth level debut internationally in the ICC Women’s World Cup against Pakistan Women’s team where India incredibly won with their amazing performance.

  • In August 2014, during India’s England tour, Kaur set up a partnership with Poonam Raut and together they broke the record for opening partnership score previously held by themselves against Sri Lanka back in January.

  • In June 2016, she became the first Indian woman cricketer signed by overseas Twenty20 franchise Sydney Thunder for Australian Women’s Big Bash League (BBL).

  • Demonstrating great leadership skill, Kaur led the Indian team to the final match of ICC Women’s World cup 2017 but unfortunately faced little disappointment losing out to England.

  • Hitting unbeatable 171 runs off just 115 deliveries against Australia also stands as one of her career highlights until now. This was also during the semi-finals of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 and is considered as one of ‘The Innings’ to remember in women cricket history.

Kaur has received several awards. She won ‘The Woman Player of The Year’ during the Ceat International Cricket Awards in 2018. She was also conferred with prestigious Arjuna Award by Indian government for her exceptional contribution towards sports world.

As a cluster-hitter, Kaur broke several records and created new ones. Among them are being the first Indian woman to score a century in a Women’s Twenty20 International match. Also setting a record for the highest individual score for India in any Women’s T20I tournaments till date.
