- The first Test Wicket Keeper: Janardan Navle holds the distinction of being India’s first Test match wicket-keeper. He made this feat during India’s maiden test appearance against England at Lord’s cricket ground in June 1932.
- Prolific Domestic Player: Apart from international matches, Navle showcased outstanding performance in domestic games too. During his career spanning over two decades (1921–1941), he played for several teams including All Maharashtras, Hindus and Western India with an impressive record.
- Eloquent Fielder: Known for sharp reflexes behind the stumps, he had an exceptional talent for taking diving catches. Navle largely contributed to his team’s total by making crucial stumpings and catches.
Final Years as Cricketer and Later Life
