MS Dhoni, whose full name is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is one of the most famous personalities in the field of cricket. He was born on July 7th, 1981, in Ranchi (which then was a part of Bihar but now lies in the state of Jharkhand), India. Known for his unmatched leadership skills and hard-hitting ability with the bat, Dhoni has left an indomitable mark on Indian as well as world cricket.

Dhoni started playing cricket at a very young age at school and club level and made his debut for Bihar in 1998-99. Following this, he consistently performed well and subsequently got selected to play for East Zone U-19 team during CK Nayudu trophy. This marked the beginning of his professional cricketing journey.

  • In 2004, he received his first international call-up and made his ODI (One Day International) debut against Bangladesh.
  • MS Dhoni played his maiden Test match in 2005 December against Sri Lanka.
