Ramesh Powar: A Noteworthy Figure in Cricket
For many, the name Ramesh Powar is synonymous with prolonged mastery within cricket. Born on May 20, 1978, in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, he’s an experienced cricketer who has granted a tremendous boost to cricket on both the domestic and international levels.
Early Career
Powar embarked on his professional career in cricket as a vibrant right-arm off-break bowler and right-handed batsman. He put himself on the map after earning prominence in Mumbai’s local cricketing circuit. Subsequently, he got selected for first-class cricket and began playing for his home team, Mumbai.
- 1999-2000: Ramesh made his debut for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy –a premier first-class cricket championship played in India– where he quickly asserted himself as a solid player.

Influence at Indian Premier League (IPL)
Powar further established his stature within IPL. Especially notable was when he represented Kings XI Punjab between 2008 and 2010, and he exhibited stellar performances throughout the span of his association with the team.
