Tendulkar started his professional career at a young age of 16 against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989. Since then he had an illustrious career spanning over two decades till his retirement in November 2013.

The ‘Master Blaster’ is quite active off-field too with various philanthropic activities. He sponsors 200 underprivileged kids every year through Apnalaya, a Mumbai-based NGO absorbed with uplifting children from slums of Mumbai.

In addition to that, Sachin was elected as member of Rajya Sabha (the upper house of Indian Parliament) where he had proposed development measures towards enhancing sports culture among Indian youth.
