Early Life and Domestic Career
Born on September 14, 1990, in Mumbai, Maharastra, Yadav’s passion for cricket began at an early age. He started playing competitive cricket when he was just ten years old with Vijay Manjrekar XI. Following this, he took part in various city tournaments showcasing immense talent and consistency.
Yadav further cemented his place domestically with his superb performances for ‘Mumbai’ in the Ranji Trophy where he served even as a captain post-2015 season. His consistent run flow further extended to the Indian Premier League (IPL), making him a valuable player worth watching.
IPL Career
Surya commenced his IPL career with Mumbai Indians back in 2012 but wasn’t given many opportunities initially.
However, after some eye-catching performances in domestic cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders recruited him ahead of IPL7 in 2014.

International Career
His consistent performances were rewarded when he was selected for Indian T20 squad against England in March 2021. Making his debut on 14th March, Yadav got his first opportunity to bat in the fourth fixture where he hit a brilliant knock, showing why pundits call him ‘Mr Consistent’. He further justified his selection by hitting quick-fire knocks that played crucial roles in India winning their subsequent matches.
