Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu India, on 30th October 1990, Kamini was exposed to cricket from a young age. Her father Murugesan Dikshithar, a former club level cricketer coached her with the nuances of cricket and fostered an interest that would eventually become her professional calling. At just 10 years old, she joined the Tamil Nadu Under-16 team before moving up to play for the state’s Under-19 and senior teams.

  • In February 2007, she first played for India when she was only 16-year-old against Sri Lanka. During this match, she scored a remarkable half-century.
