Early Life and Career
Groomed by his father, Yograj Singh, a former cricketer himself, Yuvraj soon showed signs of genius when it came to cricket. His talent quickly became evident during the Under-14 tournament held in Punjab where he mustered impressive scores at an early age.
- In 1995, merely aged 13, Singh made an imposing score of 89 runs against Haryana under-16s. This performance highlighted him as a junior-age cricketer with significant potential.
- Few years later in 1996 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final against New Zealand, Yuvraj’s innings helped India clinch their maiden title.
Career Highlights
The major breakthrough in Yuvraj Singh’s career came during the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy where he scored unforgettable 84 off just 80 balls against Australia followed by three wickets thus leading India to semi-finals.
